it takes more heat to get going because the glass is so thick compared to the foil. glass (depending on the type) has very similar heat transfer but the fact that the glass is 3/32" (
guess) compared to the .007 of foil (i couldnt find a good source for the thickness of foil but i found that and it seemed to ring a bell with me). but so you are talking .09375 vs .007 of an inch thick of a similar heat resistance (or what ever the technical term is) so ya it will take more heat and time to warm up
