Been reading the reviews, and it seems pretty much every apple flavor, for any brand, has anise/licorice flavor? Is there some reason for this? Middle-Eastern taste-bias perhaps? I've never noticed anise-like notes in apples, but then granted I have american taste-bias so I mostly notice the sugary notes in apples. Or are apples commonly spiced with anise in the ME? In the US, cinnamon or nutmeg are common complementary spices for apples.
Just wondering, maybe someone has an explanation and I'll learn something new
