Nearly every modern hookah tobacco uses honey instead of molasses. I'm fairly sure that it is a tobacco taste. I think it's due to the extremely fine cut and the consistency of the liquid. It is really thin and watery. The tobacco taste doesn't really work well with fruit flavors, but it goes pretty well with the spice flavors. Out of what I've tried cinnamon and chocolate are good. I'm looking forward to 7 spice and irish cream which should be on their way.
