uh, its not safe really, 300degrees is a joke, the coals get hotter than that.

just goto walgreens, pick up a cheap coil top for 8 bucks and you are done.

gas and coil stoves will do.

do not use a pan.

if you are afraid of getting the stove dirty, get some foil, put it under the coil or around the gas burner to collect ash, voila.
