The thing is that this tax increase will fund nothing. In another thread on this topic I have a link to a great study on the economics of SCHIP. Also, a pretty big pile of literature has shown that smokers contribute far more to the public coffers then they cost the public. Basically I resent the notion that some can force me to change my life style via taxes simply because they have more clout then I do. In the end the SCHIP tax will hurt the economy (it already has caused lay offs) and help no one. Experience is a better teacher then vaguely hopeful leftwing blather.
