I'm not expert on this but I can give a guess. Tobacco needs humidity to not dry out, AZ is a dry state, and that could be why. This may work, try keeping your Tangiers in a humididor if you have one. See if it works and let us know.
good way to ruin a humidor, not trying to be rude at all john, but it really will just kill it since the flavor will probably stick more than you would want.
same idea just with out spending money on the humidor is to just use an air tight container and get some of the humidity packs/gel/beads you can get for humidors
