I have a Saudi-style bowl now and it's my new favorite. It's just like an Egyptian I'd guess, except the holes are small, very close together, and in the very center. It could be something as simple as the materials the bowl is made of being better for all I know, but I notice a difference. Also, there's no glaze on the inside of the bowl, just the hardened clay.
For traditional stuff i agree i always use a clay bowl, but when it comes to stuff like fantasia and some AF without a vortex or phunnel your stem and base would need a really good like after every smoke
Using the vortex and phunel making cleaning a lot more simpler as well
