Re: hookah in Iraq
I haven't been in Iraq since before the invasion and as bad as things were then with the embargo, weekly bombing raids and sponsored sectarian mayhem I found a lot to like. The people seemed very friendly and highly educated and polite to a fault. Narghile wise the country was a dream with lots of black moassel and tons of fruity brands you never heard of from all over. I wish I could have visited prior to the embargo but I never had the chance.
These days between sectarian murder squads, the Americans, mercenaries, a quarter of the population refugees, a lack of electricity, water or sewage treatment the prospect of going there just depresses me.
