Corn syrup has nothing to do with molasses in any meaningful sense. Don't use it, if you do your moassel will taste like crap.
I am under the impression that DM doesn't have any preservatives and wet stuff without preservatives tends to rot if not used quickly. As a result, I wouldn't suggest mixing up stuff unless you plan on using it all fairly quickly.
