The concept is the same with Ice cream. When ice cream is melted it is far sweeter because they over sweeten the icecream so when it is frozen you can actually taste the flavor and sweetness. Cold numbs the taste buds. The flavor has to be super strong for you to really taste it when you use a mass amount of ice.
