Not all brass KMs are solid. Some of the hollow stemmed KMs like the World Trophy are indeed nickel plated brass.
I don't think you can judge those pics because they are of real KMs. Many of them are the same pics that thehookah.com uses except minus the hose. The only real give away from what I can quickly see is the "styled as Khalil Mamoon" statement. The chrome plated comment is questionable but that may simply be a mistake as one can think they're chrome plated just because they're bright and shiny. I don't know why at some point they say copper alloys and brass as brass is really the only type of copper alloy I've heard of off the top of my head that is commonly used in hookahs.
To answer the question though, I know mine is real because John said it is.
