I use the thinnest, cheapest-ass foil I can find. I load it down with coals and have no problems, even on my phunnel bowls.

I don't use the tape (everything else is the same), but I don't think that would help, because in my opinion the foil extends when it heats up and than it lowers itself a few mm to the hole of the funnel bowl. I don't want to say that it becomes impossible to smoke, but it gets a lot harder to draw. Funny thing is that I did not have this problem a few months ago with the same foil etc
I will try a few more holes tomorrow, if that does not help, I'll add a sheet more foil..
