corrosion is only an issue on steel (well for all intensive purposes/in the usage of hookah) non ferrous metals as a whole build up a layer of oxide/patina as apposed to rust which eats into the material. Aluminum oxidizes very very very fast in air but once the layer of al oxide is formed the corrosion stops. the oxide layer on AL does rub off very easily but its not a big deal because it grows right back and honestly you will not wear it off enough to notice any real change even over years and years
