Yeah 2 coals is fine for that bowl, make sure you're leaving a small gap between the top of the packed tobacco and the foil, and make sure you're holes aren't too big. Like Hatter said, some toothpicks leave large holes. Sometimes I'll use a small strip of wire tape or electrical tape below the curvature of the bowl, just make sure it's on top of foil not the bowl itself to prevent the adhesive from melting onto the clay. Windcovers are also a great way to "cook" the tobacco and get it heated evenly, just make sure to take it off once you get some good clouds to prevent burning.
