But it was a completely unnecessary post, haha.

Don't quote me on this, but I think I read it on another forum awhile back. It might have something to do with how the tobacco is baked?

I have NEVER had a pack of Tangiers smell like soy or BBQ sauce. The tea flavors maybe seem to have a hint of this soy sauce kick you guys are talking about, but letting it sti out fora few minutes helps that go away.

I have been lucky enough to never have acclimation problems. I live in Seattle, but I am not sure how similar our environment is compared to that of San Diego humidity wise. Usually I can smoke the stuff straight out of the bag. If not, letting it sit for an hour does the trick.
