QFT. My parents were not big on the idea when I first started smoking, but they warmed up with understanding. When I was home last month they let me turn the garage into a hookah lounge to have my birthday party in and my dad even smoked with me.
As far as buying a new one, have you considered the HoboNargile? I have one, and while it's obviously not a replacement for all hookahs (not trying to start that discussion again, haha), it's ideal for travel or, in your case, much easier concealment. A KM is a big thing to hide, but this all fits in a small bag. You could even leave the bag lying out and not likely get any suspicion.
