The flavor doesn't go away because the tobacco's dry. All honey and molasses do for flavor is add honey and molasses flavor.

If it's dry, mix in just enough glycerine to coat the tobacco - it'll look just a bit shiny under a strong light). Then put it in the microwave for a few seconds (for a full 250g package, about 45 sec.). When it dries out, the sugars in the molasses or honey it was made with start to crystalize. Addition of the glycerine and a bit of heat brings them back into solution.
