I get kinda of Nausea with long sessions alone as well.... Lately what I do if i want a short session is smoke 30min-45min session one night and then just take the coals off and leave it as is. Come back the next night and put fresh coals on... and it smokes another 45mins easy just as it was the night before. Not sure if I want to let it out more then one day but it has worked for me so far. BTW I use a vortex mostly but am sure your bowl would be fine for this.
As for my long term fix for this is for me to get a smaller bowl... I plan to get a small crown glass bowl. For one I dont wanna smoke for an hour and half, but maybe someone with more experience can chime in on other options.
