Consult your MD. Smoking slows the healing process! Smoking (nicotine) causes vasoconstriction (arteries get small), thus reduces the blood supply to tissues and slows or prohibits cell nourishment. Increased CO2 also increases platelet counts and makes the blood thicker, thus reducing circulation of blood to tissues. Thus, for various reasons avoid smoking till you are well healed.
