Hole size does matter, for air draw, heat coverage, etc.
like Sam just said, Generally I don't like to use larger holes because it gets ash into the bowl. Which really isn't a big deal I guess, it's just a pet peeve of mine. Vortex I use three rows of smaller holes, no bigger than toothpick(infact, a bit smaller). Same with a small phunnel. For a standard egyptian I just continue with the small holes. Haha everyone once In awhile I'll be creative and make art pieces, like a peace sign, or a C for chris.
