Do they have copyrights/licensing where they are made? If not then maybe the generics are trying to cash in on the shape. Unsuspecting consumers might think they're buying/smoking from a KM...such as in a bar....but really it cost a fraction of the price.
Send ANYTHING to China and they will be able to recreate it. They're like a xerox machine.
