Acclimation is the process of leveling humidities. You basically let your tobacco sit out for a sometime (about an hour is good IMO). The tobacco loses out gains moisture (water content), depending on the humidity of the area it is placed in. For tangier's it let's the flavour come out, because the molasses is more prominent if the humidity is different, that's why it will smell like BBQ sauce some, bbq sauce is usually molasses based.
