High End Narghile Auction
An old friend from the motherland went to an auction yesterday in London of all places that dedicated to vintage, restored narghiles. I really wish I was able to attend it seems some fantastic, rare stuff was about. A wide range of items from Turkey, the Arab world and Southern Europe were on offer from 16-19th centuries. It would seem that almost everything was professionally restored which is a must because DIY has it's limits. The costs went from reasonable (1000USD) to shocking (50000USD) with most stuff going for around 2-40000.
Craftsmanship has really declined over the last hundred years or so as slave made junk floods virtually every market. Very depressing.
