Indeed. The manufacturing date. These dates were printed on each roll so they could be matched to dates on the box or the insert with the "Counterfeit Warning".

You match the date of the box contents to the marked date in the box.... that way you know your getting the true 3 Kings experience...blah..blah....

Old coals dont go 'bad' as much as they just loose the fizzle that they would have had new...and dont light up as fast.
