Default Replacement vase

I am in need of a little advice from the members. A stupid girl broke a tear dropped shaped Bohemian vase that I used with one of my Syrians and a looking a replacement. What I want is something of real quality (no Chinese junk), the taller the better with a opening of 1 3/4" U.S. that will have most of the water as low as possible. Sometimes they are called "genie" vases I think. I was looking around and spotted the sub-zero and while I think it look great I am wondering if you can read the water level in it? Has anyone had any experience with this vase? How long does it take for the designs to fade? How thick is the glass? Does the glass have air bubbles in it?

Any input would be great.
