Hmmm.... looks like the stuff that comes out of India today.

Much of the old hookahs Ive seen were made this way... and they have been been listed as being from many different locales. Ive seen Indian hookahs made recently get listed as antiques from the 1800's

One thing thats going for this hookah is the inscriptions. The base almost looks Bidri.... but theres no silver involved and the embellishment is larger and less detailed. Bidri was popular in the 1700's and this could be a more economical piece or something just rides the coattails of the then "in thing"

It'd be a hard call for me....

I'd hate to end up getting a 50 year old Indian hookah that was made en masse.
