did you make an ice chamber for around the stem or did you make an ice catcher so the smokes passes directly through the ice?
milk will begin to curdle if there is enough heat running into it and it is not in constant motion. the one time I tried something even remotely close to milk that happened. It's an old cooking principle.
If your ice chamber stops the session and causes the water level to rise and thus get into hoses I would suggest a redesign.
