If you use too much heat and the tobacco gets burnt, it is all over for that bowl as far as I am concerned. Once the tobacco gets burnt, it tastes burnt even if you do back of on the heat.

I am referring to the kind of heat where you can remove all charcoal and the tobacco smokes by itself.. once that happens, it is all over. Time to dump the bowl and reload.
