You could use coals out of like a campfire if you have a place to build one. That's a lot of work though.

Plain charcoal. No briquettes. No quicklighting. Just plain ol' charcoal used for the grill.
Just make absotively sure it's 100% charcoal with nothing else added. It will probably burn fast and leave mountains of ash but it'll work. |

I dno not recommend the charcoal for a BBQ, HIgh chance you can die from that crap. Always play the safe card and drive the distance. Risking your safety is not worth the amount of gas you would save not driving 50 mile drive.

I have a heat gun that is made for industrial purposes and will strip asphalt. It would be a terrible option but in theory it could work. Terribly. |

Stripping asphalt. Lol. Bear in mind I say that in regards to smaller amounts of tar and asphalt. I would not suggest trying to do a driveway but it will take remnants off a tool pretty nicely. It's used for lots of things. Originally it was for taking pitch, lacquer and paint off of various surfaces. Lately I used it to strip the solidified adhesive off my hardwood in my kitchen that was used to hold the linoleum down. You can vary the intensity with it's distance from the material you want to work with so it has a lot of applications. It looks like a mini jet engine lol. |

how many people must say that bbq briquettes are NOT safe to smoke with. let me re-iterate, re-emphasize DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE CHARCOAL MADE FOR GRILLS YOU CAN AND MOST LIKELY WILL GET SICK AND DIE.
this has been a public service announcement from timelosthookah toon in next time to learn the hazzards of using a bic lighter.

BBQ Briquettes is a major No
Natural BBQ Charcoal (looks like blackened pieces of branches) that you can use for that is pure charcoal. Wait till the whole coal is glowing Red. Or from Coal from a Bonfire as long as the fire is not made with treated timber but with actual wood logs that is also safe to use. (that is the closest we can get here to natural coals otherwise it is QL) Natural wood coal ![]()

X3 what Sui said. Order a ton of coals from online and you'll be set for quite a while. Plus John has flat rate shipping, so you don't have to worry about the weight of the coals adding shipping cost.
It'll be well worth the wait if you decide to just order some more hookah coals. |
