compared to the past this has been amazingly civil... I'm still watching though.

I agree with Zanaspus. I have strong pro-Palestinian feelings, but I understand both sides. I also understand that this topic turns friends into enemies in a matter of seconds, and it's better not to discuss it.

To me it seems that anyone I call a friend would not have a problem with what ever view one holds on anything. I would say that this fear of offending is just a way to let evil be. Truth is more important then all and to avoid it to be polite is to me a great evil.

I think it's a case of the... to put it nicely, more "heatedly passionate" opinionated people ruining it for the rest of us who love a decent (and often deep) conversation. They're pretty damn common here in the States.

Sometimes, I think when people talk about Israel and taking land from palestinians, some might fail to remember that Israel has been fought over for thousands of years and has gone through numerous empires, pushing people out and getting people to assimilate. I'ts nothing new. To say that Arabs deserve it because they had it first seems small minded. There will always be fighting in the holy land, sad to say. I think the Jewish people need a state, but I don't agree with some of Israels policies to say the least.

What amazes me is the way Israel continues to berate other countries regarding the development or suspected development of nuclear material while it HAS never signed up to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. In fact only three countries in the world have not signed up to it (Israel, India & Pakistan).

Israel never signed up to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty simply because America has a policy that states it will not support any country developing nuclear arms , which seems pretty hypocritical to me but i guess there's more to it than I know. Though I am pro-Israel, every one knows that without the support of the U.S, Israel could not survive. So despite the whole world including the US having knowledge of Israel's nuclear arsenal, they will not come out with it simply because the US would immediately withdraw any support of the country.

Well I happen to be an atheist so the whole biblical claim to Israel is nonsensical to me personally. However, I do come from a Middle Eastern background which is primarily Israeli and Iranian. Now my stance on Israel is that it should exist as a state, but it would be nice if a two state solution could work. The main problem is that as long as Hamas is making the calls for the Palestinian people, there will never be a peaceful resolution, which is a darn shame. I have many Israeli and Arab friends who would like nothing more than a two state solution. Also, there are so much similarities in terms of culture, hookah being one of them, why not work it out?

I find what the zionists are doing in Israel is beyond disgusting. This zionist movement has corrupted young Jewish Israelis and they are joining the army to enforce this view upon the Palestinians and Christians alike. This zionist view is also being secretly portrayed to the public around the world without their knowledge, secretly brainwashing them as well. They portray themselves as Jews as well, which suprises me why the Jews haven't staged a rebellion against these zionist folk.

After watching the documentary "Israhell on Earth" i was lost for words.

On top of that, my mother was asked to go to Jerusalem for work (shes a teacher) and i was very hesitant, although my father and I both think its the opportunity that is worthwhile for her, and one that will be with her for the rest of her life.

Religion should not be used as cover for what you are doing. Religion (if peaceful) should INFLUENCE your views POSITIVELY for the betterment of fellow man. I've seen this first hand to what extremist Muslims have done to Lebanon, and the stories that my father has told me has chilled my spine.

Putting the politics aside,

My dad just got back from a visit to israel and he witnessed first hand how they treat Muslims vs non Muslims. The tour guide showed them the lovely streets of Israel and said "you'll know when we enter the Muslim section". Let's just leave it at that.

His tour guide even showed them the house that he was evicted from so that israelis could move in (right outside Al aqsa mosque) ...They offered him money and when he refused, they kicked him out anyway so legally the house is still his but he can't do anything about it

I used to live in Israel I love Israelis and Palestinians however a dual state is not an option. I understand all that Israel does. They cannot move forward until they feel safe In their home land and unfortunately they are surrounded by people who do not like them. Also I completely understand the Palestinians their land was taken from them however this was not the Israelis fault it is europes. In my opinion the UN created this problem and since they caused they need to compensate Palestine. Especially since they still aren't represented appropriately in the UN.

Military is not a choice. It's not that they are joining they are enlisted if they do not go for their duty they lose citizenship. Women serve two years men serve three I do believe.
