UK coal burner - not coil burner

Hot plates are sub-optimum, they take longer than most things, I would not recommend it.

A lot of our euro members use camping stoves to light them up (they are powered my methane I think and other things in small tanks) and the light up time (if done properly) is comparable to that of a coil burner, if you decide to go with that get some sort of Wire Mesh to make sure your coals are directly in the fire, that helps a lot.

I just tried a 1000w hot plate, coals been on for an hour and are still cold from top and pure black. What a piece of shit.

Didn't know they were that bad, we're really in need of coil burners in UK!

hot plates no, but it depends which. a lot of hot plates are coil burners but upside down. not sure what exact brands but some of them you can modify to flip it over and there will be a coil burner

Don't buy it cause it aint gonna work.. small camping stove youre best option bought down the camping shop...or lidl or aldi..u have them in uk ?
