I prefer coconut because of their consistent form, even heat distribution and their CO output is relatively low compared to wood coals.

MeLikesHookah, I too have been using the Coconut coals, can't stand the quick light type, you can smell and taste the chemicals. So you say the CO output from the coconut is lower, that's good to know. Have also checked out those electric coals and the reviews I have seen have not been impressive. I have smoked for 40 years and have been able to quit cigarettes since I started smoking Hookah.....Thanks for the information.

Yea your best bet is to stick with coconut coals. Some good brands in the US are cocoultimate, coconara, cocojamra and leonara from what I've heard.

I hear you Gnome. I can deal with the Shisha vapors, it's the by product of the coals that really bother me....If somebody could come out with an electric coal that would actually work, that would be the ticket, you can bet your arse that I would own one, for sure....Thick Clouds and blue skies to all......
