I just got a 7ico and been packing it with fantasia but the draw gets constricted from the spire sucking down the foil on top of it is there anyway to fix this? Ive been sticking the pocker from the tongs or a toothpick in the foil to prop it up.

poke some holes into the spire so some air can get into it.

I make foil carats (^) to put on the spire, just roll up some foil, tear it and make a n upside down V and balance them half in the tobacco and half down the spire and it should hold the foil off. Someone here also said in an old thread that an arm from a metal clip makes a good foil tenter.
Usually I am all about any kind of suction, but this kind sucks. |

If you gave restrictive airflow with a phunnel, poke ONE HOLE AT A TIME in the spire.
Some like anywhere from 1-5 holes. On tangiers I do a dice "5" pattern, with everything else I do a 3 point triangle.

I am sure most people will agree with this statement. Especially the first part.

does poking holes make a difference in terms of smoke quality/heat management or taste?

Check out Submersedshelf8's recent video on a scalli mod, he was having the same issue.

no it does not affect it. I actually prefer to poke 3 holes over the spire.

is the spire set back from the rim of the bowl? if that makes sense. If so then try making your foil tighter or like said above just chuck a few small holes over the spire.

You could also sand it down a little. I had to do the same with my Tangiers Small Phunnel.

One thing I did was take a paperclip, bend it in half, and put that over the spire before I foil. This lifts the foil up a bit, making sure even if I was sloppy with packing the tobacco it wont touch the foil.
