Default Miller79 is a sad smoker

I walked into my favourite shisha bar today to get some supplies. It seems like the place has undergone some management changes or something because its an entirely new staff. The owner was behind the counter and I asked if I could buy a box of coals and if I could get some grommets - something that has never been an issue in the past. He said I couldnt have any coals and didnt know what grommets were and he was pretty rude about it. Eventually he gave me 1 pack of coals saying that he was running low and threw me 2 used grommets. Since I was desperate and have no orders coming in I took the coals but gave back the grommets after he refused to give me new ones. He charged me 5 bucks.

Cafe Med in calgary was a great shisha bar with the friendliest staff. I am sad to say that my local hookah joint is now sub par at best due to the unfriendly staff. I am a sad smoker.

Definitely know how you feel.

I first started smoking as a passion about a year and a half ago. The manager of a pool hall/hookah lounge quickly became a good friend of mine and i learned A LOT about it all from him. Sadly, he got brain cancer and hasn't been back there for at least 7 months ((thank god he is ok, they ridded all of the cancer with chemo... but the chemo left him really weak so he still isn't back there every day like he used to)).

Since his absence, some other people are running it now and, i'm sad to say they know the JIST of making and smoking hookah, but it was no where near the quality of someone who treats hookah as a passion and not a job. I went back there fairly recently and decided to order a hookah anyway while shooting some pool. very disappointed.

There used to be this small motorcycle shop that I would go to all the time whenever I had a question or needed work done. I knew the owner and the staff pretty well, and I could always go and talk to the mechanic about any issues with the bike. Really straight forward and nice guy. Then I walked in one day and the shop was twice the size it used to be with a new owner and a completely new staff. Rates of service work went up plus the mechanic that I had always dealt with before was gone and they wouldn't let me go back and talk to the new guy that was doing service work. Never went back to that shop after that

Actually, to be grammatically correct, the comma goes before the conjunction "but" not after.

I don't get why anyone would be rude. I mean your trying to run a business. It is your job to make a profit and money yes, but in order to do that you have to provide customers with quality goods and/or services. Understanding why someone would be angry or even feel bothered with a customer is beyond me yet I see it all the time. There are so many places I go to in Jersey where people seem perturbed when you walk through the door of their store and ask for help. Oh I'm sorry I just wanted to spend my money here guess that's a problem? Do you get that in other places, or are the people in Jersey simply pissed about paying high insurance and property taxes with nothing to show for it?

A place I used to love to go to back where I'm originally from got busted for turning a blind eye to letting people put ********* and salvia in their bowls. What a bloody waste. I hope they at least cleaned those hookahs well. I'd hate to have gone there the night before a drug test.

It could be worse, Miller79. Your thread could trail off into another grammar argument. But your story is truly sad indeed, it sucks when good things have to change..
