Default Boston MA in the house

Hey everyone,

Thought I'd join a Hookah forum since I'm looking to increase my knowledge about Hookahs! I got interested in Hookah's a couple years ago when a couple of my friends invited me to a Hookah bar and loved the flavor/experience! Ever since then i've always been interested in them so I finally broke down and bought my own earlier this year.

Got into this hobby about 6 months ago so I still consider myself a newb. My biggest issue I had to troubleshoot so far was how to prevent the shisha from getting harsh right after I started a session. The fix ended up being using one coal, cutting it in half and placing the pieces on the edges of the bowl verses in the middle. After I solved that issue I've been getting great sessions.

Here's my current setup:

Mya Saray QT
Mya Jumbo Bowl
Mya extra large tray
Nammor hoses
Al Fakher grape
******* Instant light coals

So far all I've tried is the Al Fakher and Starbuzz brands. Not a huge fan of the Starbuzz (tried the X on the Beach flavor). Had a ton of stems and I didn't get much smoke. I'm pretty content with Al Fakher's shisha, I'm just trying to figure out which flavors I like at this point. So far I like grape the best, apple, and then watermellon.

When I was in Vegas this past June we went to Town Square at the south end of the strip. For you that are not familair with it, it's a huge shopping center right on the strip. There's a middle eastern restaurant/lounge there called Nu Sanctuary http://www.nulounge.com/. I had one of the best Hookah sessions there. I tried this shisha called Limboberry Lemondade which consists of Watermellon, Lemonade and strawberry shisha mixed together. To this day, my GF and I still talk about that session!!! Someday I'm going to try and mimic it and see if I can reproduce the flavor!!!

Well that's all I have to say at the moment!!!

I think I'm going to purchase a Khalil Mamoon Heart of Lion 2 hose Hookah tomorrow. Awesome sale going on right now with a certain online vendor I just found using this forum.

I suggest sticking to a one hose version and buying from a reputable vendor that supports our site and has a respectable history. Hookah-shisha.com has a great selection and offers great discounts for our members.

Kalutika,

How do I go about getting a discount off hookah-shisha's website? I actually just placed a $100 order with them last week. Also what's the reason behind sticking with a one hose?

After reading all the reviews on KM's I got to have one (still researching the 1 hose vs the 2 hose).

http://www.hookahstore.com/hookahs-k...kah-p-691.html

http://www.hookah-shisha.com/p-6981-...se-hookah.html

I know both will smoke exactily the same from what I've researched so it all comes down to which one I think looks better. I really love the look of the Tri Metal, beautiful stem.

Yea it sounds like from what I've been reading on here. I'm thinking I'm going to keep my Mya as a transportation Hookah (bring it to parties or special events not hosted at my place). I did a lot of upgrades to it to make it a better hookah (bigger bowl and Nammor hoses for better pulls). It's pretty decent now.

The KM will be my "special hookah" kept at my house at all times. I'm leaning towards the tri metal. Everytime I look at the picture of it I fall in love with it more and more.

We have a thread that lists all of our current discounts. They also offer a free mini mya hookah with any purchase over a certain amount before shipping.

I prefer the single hose because it encourage sharing and community. That's what a hookah is about. I also prefer the smoking properties. Nobody has to hold their finger over the hose when not smoking, there is no chance of people fighting for smoke when pulling at the same time and I don't have to worry about the second port being sealed when I want to smoke with one hose. I see the second port as just one more place that a leak can occur.

In regard to the trimetal, i know what you mean. I was in love with the original trimetal for years before I finally caved and bought a double trimetal. Still one of my favorite hookahs.

Ok thanks Kalutika. I was thinking it was something along the lines of the second hose not being covered which would result in a poor draw.

well I pulled the trigger, I bought the Tri Metal:
http://www.hookahstore.com/hookahs-k...kah-p-691.html

Bought some other goodies and took advantage of the 15% off with free shipping promo going on. Now the long 4 day wait!!!

Also wanted to mention what great customer service HookahStore has. I was trying to place the order this afternoon and there was somethign wrong with their website (something to do with authorizing credit cards). I called Customer support, I think I spoke to a guy by the name of Alvin. He took down my info and said he was going to troubleshoot the issue and call me back. I honestly wasn't expecting a call back so soon, Alvin called me back in 15 mins and said it should be ok now. I re-tried and it went through successfully. Now that is customer service!!! When I actually get my stuff I'll write up a formal review in the vendor review section.

Ya, if the second hose is not covered you will just draw in fresh air from that port and get poor smoke.
