Default Hookah valve, no ball bearing.

I'm sorry for making a new thread but i just found another issue that i need help with.

I noticed that theres no ball bearing in my hookah. There is a valve on it cause it is a single hose hookah. But i was wondering if there is always a bearing inside of it? Cause im thinking i might have dropped the ball somewhere.

Anyways, would it be safe if i just used something to cover it? Like take a piece of foil and put it over the hole?

I have a pretty small pumpkin hookah about 11 inches i believe.

kinda looks like this, not exact but you get the picture. I'm so sorry for all the questions. But you guys are hookah-pros for a reason.

yes there is supposed to be a ball in there if not try checking the purge cap to see if its stuck up there.. if not up there replace it with a airsoft BB it will work fine

and if you don't have a BB just plug the hole with something until you get a BB

air soft pellet is teh absolute cheapest, and by far best mod that every hookah can benifit from. the metal ball bearings hookas come with are prone to rusting out and jamming. any sporting good store or walmart will sell crappy airsoft guns with low grade ammo. which is perfect for your hookah (just dont get bio-degradeable ammo or it will deolve in the hookah) these little plastic pellets are the perfect size and do not suffer from rust or corosion.

I've noticed a few times that after a few washings (4-10) that the ball-bearing in the valve starts to accumulate rust... Usually I clean both the bearing and the valve with a very small wire brush, though this fix (despite being glaringly obvious to me) sounds both logical and economically-sound... Something I was going to try was to get a Duckbill Valve and MacGyver it on, as it should do the same thing without the possibility of rusting... I'll have to get one of my .2g rounds from my closet and switch it out...

The guys above me are spot on. Airsoft BB is the best. I picked up a 2000 pack of BB's for like $3. Works like a charm and I don't have to worry about losing one.

as everyone said, u can replace them with what they say. as for ur second question, there's no harm at closing it with some alumionuim foil, just place a piece a bit larger than the valve and close it over it, the only downside is, ofcourse, u can't purge. but if u don't have a replacment, that's a quick fix (as u probably have in hand aluminuim foil) until u find a replacment.
enjoy.

The other benefit of using an airsoft BB, which I've done on two of my hookahs, is that purging is really easy because the BBs are generally lighter than the bearings were. The only hookah I couldn't do this on was my SS Cyclone because the bearings were to big for the BBs i have to replace.

Airsoft BBs are lighter and easier to purge and arent prone to rusting or jamming

The only kind of "jam" i've ever experienced with a BB is that sometimes it will get kind of stuck in the open position, so at first I'll be inhaling air from the purge valve instead of the stem. Nothing a quick inhale won't fix, though.

you obviously haven't played airsoft with my friends! If they is only one airsoft gun then whoever shoots somebody usually starts to get pummeled.
But yeah.. i haven't lost the bearing on my 2 new hookahs yet.. but my older one has an airsoft BB and its nice because if you lose it.. There is a giant replacement container of them.

Guys will this work with any big KM hookahs? I bought one recently and it was shipped without a ball bearing and i'm scared a bb gun pellet will be too small.

my new rig came with a plastic bb type ball, I am assuming this is what everyone is refering to as an airsoft bb. I wasnt used to my km and I had like 3/4 of a session which was terrible. I noticed I wasnt getting good smoke and was considering more coals. I finally located the source of the airleak. that bb had gotten traped inside the top of the purge valve cover and was stuck there. I fixed it and had a good remainder session, all 15mins of it! lol! Just wanted to share an Epic noob moment for me!

My airsoft pellets always get stuck in the valve, so I just stick with the thumb method

you have to lube it! get some vegtable oil also if you dont rinse the hookah regularly (even if you do sometimes) a dirt ring will form where the airsoft pellet rests and make it stick you just have to pull it out every now and then, wipe it off, lube it and stick it back in
