Default J-Horror Fans or Asian Extreme Cinema

Well, since several people here are horror fans, how many of you are J-Horror fans? What's J-horror? They are Asian Extreme Cinema films.

And I don't just mean the cheesy ones.... things like the Orginial Pulse, Wishing stairs, Missed Call, and Twin Sisters, Acadia and others.

Some J-horrors are simple bloodbaths, others you'll never see a single drop of blood (and yet they'll scare you silly). Some are just plain STRANGE, others cheesy, some sad.

There's one good website I go to find out about new ones: http://www.mandiapple.com/snowblood/

Does anybody else watch these?

Have any favorites?

yes, takahashi miikes all the way!

I loved Ichi the Killer, and dead or alive.

Also, Battle royals were great!

Is the grudge and the ring originals apart of this genre?

technically yes, but are you talking about the US version or the orginials?

Ringu, Rasen, Ringu 2, Ring virus, ringu 0.... then you have jun-on, jun-re.... and the grudges.... but they are slightly different than the american version - which tend to be more threatical, but less involved in the story lines or with the extra "twist" endings. Even dark water was different between the US and Japanese version. Same with Pulse.

Ichi was great, wasn't it . I've not seen the Battle Royals yet, but only becasue of LACK of time. I just recently added several more movies to my BB online and since the little boy gets paid tomorrow - I get to hit up a local video store that has TONS of J-Horrors. Ah, a lovely 3 day weekend lets me catch up on the ones I haven't seen yet.

Ichi the Killer was pretty insane. Takashi Miike (sp?) is one messed up dude.
