So Everytime I smoke just mint, it ends up being a harsh type smoke with small clouds. I smoked af mint yesterday in my vortex with a loose pack and 2 jamras. Idk if I'm doing something wrong or if mint is just always like that. How do you pack af mint to get a good, cool, minty bowl with no harshness? Thanks(:

I don't have much experience with af mint but I do smoke nak mizo mint and nak chocomint. I usually have a fluff pack just a tad over the rim then pat it down till it's under the rim so that it doesn't touch the foil in a Egyptian bowl. Then either two coals with a windcover or three without, making sure to rotate the coals often. I usually get a good session like that, oh and one layer hd foil

Honestly, AF mint is the only flavor I get right 100% of the tome. I find it heat resistant like no other. I fluff pack my Egyptian or I dense pack my crown micro. 2 coals on crown micro, three on Egyptian.

I'm not sure how you can ruin mint, i would assume some of the harshness would be masked by the flavor if you're not totally burning the tobacco. I suggest a denser pack, specially for AF and if that fails try less heat.

I use AF Mint in my vortex all the time and never have had that occur. I pack it heavy light...not extremely heavy but not light either - somewhere in between...but I really dont see that its hard to maintain. I use 2 leo-naras and add one half way thru the sesh. Good luck dude.

I smoked AF Mint the other day. Fluffed in a genie vortex, 2 silver tabs and a windcover. Only had brief moment of harshness from leaving the windcover on too long.
Coconut coals tend to burn hotter, so I would suggest sliding them to the edge of the bowl if the tobacco is burning. As always, avoid letting the tobacco touch the foil. |

i would say try packing a bit denser a little higher but dont touch the foil. I fluff it in above the rim on my small tang phunnel, then pat it down below the rim. holes. 3 cocos halfway off. let it sit for 4mins, rotate, 4 mins. pull it. 2 cocos works if i just put it on there without the edges hanging off, then i just do the same 4min rotate 4 min pull method.
