Default First phunnel bowl, to boil or not to boil, that is the question

Hey Guys,

I'm pretty stoked because I just received my first brand new phunnel bowl :-) .

I REALLY want to smoke this but I've heard rumors that if you don't boil it in water first you get a weird aftertaste from the glaze of the bowl. Also, I'm a bit worried that boiling will crack or break my boil.

Suggestions are welcome. Thanks guys!

Cheers,

i just washed mine and didnt get any aftertaste.

Boiling bowls is only usefull for removing burnt residue on the bowl that is normally very hard to remove with just normal scrubbing.

Yup just wash it and you should be good. I just boil my bowls to get rid of the residue or i soak them in oxy clean.

If you do boil your bowl make sure you put the bowl into the water before you start heating the water. This will allow the bowl to warm up gradually and it won't experience a sudden change in temperature - which is the reason why a bowl may break . Don't just throw it in when the water's boiling.
