Default flat burner or coil burner for natural coals?

believe it or not i have never tried natural charcoals, ive been smoking shisha for like 14 years and always just used three kings. its really the only coals they have locally here in canada and all the hookah cafes use it so i thought i wasnt missing out. but seems everyone likes the natural coals better so i ordered some Gaia and Coco Nara to try (they were free which a hookah at H-S). problem is i have a glass top stove.
should i buy a single burner that's flat or is a coil better? im really only going to be using it for coals so what works best?

also any natural coals better than others?

I had a flat burner and the coals never lit lol.
You probably want to get a coil. They last a good two years also

coil for sure... takes eons to light nats on a flat burner.... also any hookah coal with the word "coco" in the name are generally considered good...(naras, jamras, ultimates, buzz, bricos, mazayas}

When I had a flat burner, it took me over an hour to light my coals. Go for a coil burner, they usually light up coals in about 10 minutes.

I have a glass-top stove and put a small grill grate over it

works great, allows for airflow, doesnt fuck-up the top of the stove, lights coals in minutes

I started this thread recently about two of the most popular natural coals

Either the coil burner or the other favorite -- camp stove on a LP tank. Beauty of that last one you can even smoke in a power outage, or at camp.
