put it in a stoneware plate max 2 at a time and pop it in the microwave

WARNING: It does burst into flames after about 15-20 seconds remove immediately... it will ready to smoke. PLEASE it must be a thick stone type plate normal glass and porcelain type plate crack.

I recommend you light it for 20 seconds and check its lit, place it in your coal tray etc when you remove it from the micrwave

you can use your electric stove or coil burner with no problems. just put it on high and place the coals on it, if you have a windcover, placing it over the coals help them get hot faster.

If you electric cooker is a glass top don't use it. If is an electric coil then it is fine to use it to light the coals. Don't use the microwave, you could destroy it!

Alternatively you could buy a coil burner like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/COMPLIANT-Ni...7870068&sr=8-1

If you have a gas stove then go get a coil burner. I got mine from Menards for 13 bucks.

Of course you can use a gas stove. Many people use them with no problems. Just buy a metal grill and place that over the flame to make it easier. I used to do the same. I only use a coil burner now for convenience.

If you do use a gas stove, place a cake rack over it.
Electric stove: put on high for 6 minutes or so, then flip it over until it's all glowing red.
DO NOT PUT THEM IN THE MICROWAVE!

DO NOT USE YOUR MICROWAVE! IT CAN MESS IT UP OR/AND EXPLODE!
Coil Burner is your best choice! You can get it at any WalMart of Walgreens for about $10 to $15.
If you have a flame (gas) stove, put the coals inside a pan for about 8 mins.!

I can't believe somebody is genuinely advising people to use the microwave! This is dangerous and should not be done!

Ive used glass top many times. But i take it off before they are fully lit than place the coals next to eachother in a tray and let them heat eachother up. Than again there are different types of glass and some are stronger than other.

my last apartment had an electric stove and I found it much easier to use than the gas stove I currently have. The electric stove is a bit slower (may take 2 more minutes than a gas stove) but its foolproof
I would put it on one side for roughly 5 minutes then flip it over for another 2 minutes or so then I was ready.

and lastly, I used Kanara (much cheaper than Coco Nara) and it worked well for me but I do look forward to trying Coco Nara when I find it for a good price.

To all that say that it's ok to light them in the microwave:
When you use a microwave to light a coco... there is a very odd chemical reaction that is not safe at all.

Don't believe me?

Try it. Then set the coals that you lit in the microwave on your tray. Then come back here and tell me that it's safe.

It oxidizes the metal. Forever scaring your tray.

Think about that. A piece of metal that before when you set a coal down upon, washed stainless and clean. Then you go and set a coal down on it that you lit in the microwave, and all of a sudden, it's "stained" all the way through so that you can see it on the other side of where you set the coal.
