Default Can this be okay to fix my broken mya bowl?

I broke my MYA bowl the SAME day I bought it a few weeks ago

I know I can use a dremel, but I don't have one to fix it lol

I looked on amazon for clay to see if anything could be used to fix it ad look what I found:
http://www.amazon.com/Crayola-Air-Dr...1111548&sr=8-1

http://www.amazon.com/ACTIV-CLAY-TER...1111548&sr=8-1

Will this be okay to use or will it melt when the coals are on top of the bowl?

The only places it is broken is at the bottom of the bowl (where it attaches to the stem) and two pieces broke off of the bowl so it'll be a easy fix I guess.

This suggestion might not be visually appealing. But as you may already know electrical tape is a hookah's best friend.

I have an Egyptian Clay bowl that broke in 3 places at the bottom.

I just put it back together and secured it with the electrical tape.

Now yes...there is some give here and there...but this makes it tighter so to speak, and fits more snugly.

Aside from all that. A good epoxy would work too. Try the paint department at Home Depot. There should be a product called PC-7 or PC-11 I cant remember which one you will need. But basically one is for Marine Applications and the other is for everything else.

Hope this helps a little

I would NOT use either of those clays. Neither of them have anything listed about "food" use or it's restistance to heat, which is a HUGE factor!

Hehe it doesn't matter if it isn't visually appealing, just as long as it works!

But isn't using epoxy for your bowl kinda bad tho? I heard it kinda would release toxins or something...But I can't be too sure and I don't wanna take any chances :P

I think the crayola one wouldn't be too bad since it says "non-toxic". And the bowl only broke at the bottom (where the big hole is) into two pieces

Well with the epoxy.....as you stated before. its on the bottom of the bowl.

So, I dont think it should be bad.

I was gonna say it might be time to upgrade to a phunnel, but then I noticed you said you already had two. I'm curious, why would you still use a stock Mya or egyptian bowl, if you already have two superior phunnels? I wouldn't worry about the broken one, and just stick to the phunnels (but that's just me).

And on the Mini Mya. If you're planing on getting the mini Mya Acrylic, I suggest to get it with the hookah-shisha special offer. With any purchase totaling $200, you get a 18 inch mini Mya Acrylic free. Go here for more details: http://www.hookah-shisha.com/store/p...p?subpageId=29

I got the mini this way when I ordered my 30 inch Mya Blue Column, and from that aspect it was worth it. But in all honesty, if you're just going to be purchasing it by itself, I would suggest you consider another type of Mya. It just doesn't seem worth paying for to me. It's an allright little hookah, it smokes good, and looks nice. But if it was up to me, I'd rather get the Mya Diva or even Vortex model. I know they're more expensive, but just consider it. I posted a more detailed review of my dislikes on the mini Mya Acrylic in the review section if you're interested.

teehee nah its a mini MYA: the nou nou one. My local shop sells it for $40 bucks Ahhh I can't wait to get it

The reason why I like the MYA bowl is because I usually smoke by myself most of the time so using pure phunnels would be wasting way too much tobacco for me. I can hardly finish a a MYA or standard clay bowl

I actually really like the MYA bowls, they are deep and perfect for single or double smokers! Just buy a couple online, I think I have three of them. In my opinion, it is not worth trying to fix a bowl with anything other then a dremel ... why introduce other chemicals or substances to your smoke when you can buy a new bowl instead for reasonable price?

If you have a dremel, just fix it that way, if not then buy a new bowl ...

Cheers!

I had a Phunnel myself, but sold it as I perfered my Eypgtian bowls to the Phunnel. Call we weird, but I didn't 100% enjoy it. I always wasted so much tobacco (even w/ the mod) and 7/8ths of time I smoke alone. Eh, maybe he's like me?

me too sammniamii. i bought a large phunnel (holds quite a bit of shisha!), but problem is i mostly smoke by myself and sometimes i dont always have enough time to smoke the entire bowl completely. im planning on getting a small phunnel for my singular sessions.

one thing about the phunnels i notice is that the material its made from doesnt look like the strongest, i bet if i dropped mine on any hard surface it would shatter so i try to be extra careful.

I understand what some are saying about the phunnel being too much to smoke alone. I have a small, and most of the times I don't even finish it completely, and end up throwing some shisha away. For some reason, I just can't bring myself to use my Mya or Egyptian bowl. I'd rather throw away a little shisha and not finish it, than to have a session with a regular bowl. I know it sounds dumb but oh well...

I don't think id take the chance for something to go wrong. I would just spend the money and get a new one. At least you won't have to worry.

NEVER buy mya bowls... they are horrible quality. The only two bowls I have ever broken were mya, and that was from removing them off my hookah. Yes, they broke in my hands.
