Default how many watts is your hotplate?

Ive been using a 1000 watt plate for a long time, but now my I gave it to my cousin. I just bought an 1100 watt hotplate, hopefully my coals will light just a tad quicker. Life is too short to sit and wait for coals to light.

BTU... British thermal unit... Go back to england! In murika we use the good old fashioned murika thermal unit. MTU. two matches to a lighter, four lighters to a campfire, four campfires to a bonfire, eight bonfires to a car fire and four carfires to a ginger. Its super easy to remember.
