Default Desi Merli vs desi merli?

Now that I've finally recovered from my first incredible experience with the dark side (Zaghloul) last night (Wow!) I am planning a small order from DM for the 3 overall favorites, according to HP members. I've done a lot of reading past threads and while I see a lot of HPers raving about DMs traditional tobaccos, when it comes to their "flavored tobaccos"....not so much! So is there a DESI MERLI and a desi merli? Are their flavored tobaccos just ordinary? Just wondering.....

all of their tobaccos are flavored, besides plain.

Their are fruity flavors, and spiced flavors

Their fruity flavors are pretty decent, but it is their spiced mo'assels that really stand out to me... In my opinion a fruit just cant pair with a strong tobacco taste, as good as spices can. All of desi murlis flavors are more traditional, and each of their flavors have a very good tobacco taste.

I haven't had anything from Desi Murli so far that doesn't far exceed my expectations. Even though i like the Spiced desi murli more, their fruit flavors are still perfect, for instance.... Desi murli blackberry is beyond amazing. The taste of the dark fruit, mixed with the strong dark tobacco taste, and a lingering of floral in the background is just too good for words.

Pick what you like, Nothing by Desi Murli is going to let you down.

the "flavor" in desi murli is more of a background note. the spice characteristics are up front and you get a nice background of whatever flavor you ordered. Ive never had DM plain but i can imagine its similar to most other desi murli without the flavor note in it

my personal recommendation is vanilla, roohafza and strawberry lemonade. those three are absolutely divine.

only order as much as you're going to smoke in a month or two because desi murli doesnt have any of the preservatives like honey and molasses as in other tobaccos and can and will mold if you're not careful.
i had to throw out probably 150g of some not too long ago because of mold.

You can not go wrong with dm....imagine its like 76% zaglhoul with 24% reg flavored nak...plus the usual array of dm spices...even then dm is not describable....the flavors are behind the tobacco not in front of it

OK, Thanks everyone for the information. I have a clearer idea now of the total DM package. It's just in reading through old thread and reviews it seemed like everyone focused on Roofafza or Pan Rasna, which I interpret to be "traditional tobacco with spices", as opposed to fruit flavored. Guess I'll try three kinds: Roofafza, Chai Latte, and Strawberry Milkshake. Should give me a representative taste! Loved Zaghloul so much it was scary!

Even plain is flavored.

DM blends are not like anything else you can get on the US market. All of them have a prominent tobacco presence with spies and various essences up front. This base then has other flavors applied to it. Some of them work better than others.

Pan Rasna, Double Apple, and Strawberry Milkshake are all delicious. I've heard great things about Silverfox, and will be ordering that next round. My gf loves Chai Latte.

The fruity stuff they make is nothing special. It is better then most as it has some texture and tobacco like ways but I can't bother with it much. Everything they make of the spice sort is very good or even excellent. Well, Clove is far too strong so that I ignore as I can't find enjoyment of it.

The bolded part is a great way to summarize what exactly DM is. And it's very very tasty tobacco too.

glad youre delving into dm. imo avoid straw milkshake. Its very bland compared to a lot of other great flavors. I think its popular because lots of first timers to dm think its a cool flavor to try (it is) but for 3 flavors to get.. Id definitely say pan rasna, roohafza, and either chai latte, any apple flavor, pudina (tastes like garden fresh mint leaf, a must try imo. Most realistic mint out there), khus, kewra, lemon lime, or a few others i cant remember off the top for the 3rd flavor

if you want to get straw milkshake go for it, its cheap and heck you might like it. But after smoking a lot of dm its one of the most uneventful flavors. Jmo
