Default Any tips on replacing a syrian screw in tray?

Hi. I have a Syrian hookah that uses screw in trays and i can't find any online. I thought about buying a lule tray and epoxy some kind of washer under it it to make it fit my hookah but i cant find a washer of that size that has a .6" opening. Any tips or advice would be very helpful. Thank you.

i would say get a nice small serving dish (the size of a tea cup plate) in stainless steel and drill the right sized hole in it

and you can do this with any drill? I am not very good with tools to be honest lol Also where do you find a quality nickel serving tray that can resemble a hookah tray?

as long as the hole in the tray is bigger than the threading and smaller than the bowl port it should work, h-s sells a lot of trays of varying diameter hole,s but idk what all is in stock

then id look on ebay for something, you should be able to drill a hole without too much trouble using a normal drill, though a drill brass would be more stable. You'll also need a big enough bit, a clamp or two (or brave friend) to hold the tray while you drill

I Do not have soil. However I will probably go to the beach and drill through a piece of wood from a door (from the knob-hole) Idk why i still had it lol but looks like it may prove to be useful . I just wish i had a .5 or .6" drill-bit.

OK, I will hit up the hardware store tomorrow. What setting do you recommend on the drill for this type of thing? Max, high, medium, or gentle/slow ? or if the drill uses number settings. I'm so clueless idk what settings are on the makita drill i bought like 6 years ago. lol (I still never used it)

I found a 6" stainless 'drain cleanout cover' at Lowes for $3. I had to drill out a 1/2" hole in the center for my hookah, but it wasn't too bad to drill through even being thicker stainless.

You shouldn't have a problem drilling through brass even if you had a hand drill and a little bit of weight to lean with.

As a side note, it is probably a good idea to pick up a small set of half decent drill bits (up to 1/2") when you see a decent brand go on clearance. You'll need them sometime. I think I got real nice Ingersoll Rand ones on sale for under $10 when they went on clearance on their website.

Also of use will be a small fine file if you are drilling it yourself. I have one that is intended for sharpening chainsaw blades that has gotten its use over the years.

EDIT: Even a dremel and some of the grinding bits will get you through brass if needed. The cut will be sloppy though.
