Unhappy Where to buy vintage hookah

Bought a vintage hookah on eBay and thought it was the best thing since sliced bread until I purchased it and realized that it was a Indian hookah to smoke tombac out of. I smoke the regular flavored tobacco so I cancelled my purchase right at the last minute. The search for vintage antique beauty continues....
Does anybody know where I can look for a vintage hookah that's smokeable and is compatible with good ole shisha or molasses. I'm tired of the Americanized bright pink and crazy Hookahs. I want the real deal.

Khalil Mamoon hasnt become "teeni boppery" as far as I can remember. But everyone and their mom has 4 of them.....My guess is you want something not particularly vintage rare but something vintage different right?

Yes that's true. I looked for something vintage but it turned out to be too much. Something different would be fabulous. I have already been through the Internet but just cannot find anything and if I do it's $1000.

No not the PBS but more towards the 2005 Egyptian. The hookah with the flower like tray that's brass I think is absolutely gorgeous. Pretty much every single one of those has the feel I'm looking for except the little clay pots.

Check Ebay Vendor "Turkeysonline" online store. He may have exactly what you are looking for.

$31? Wow that's a steal though. I never see hookah anything for less than $50.

Can't just search for "Hookah"

Try "Shisha" "Shisha Pipe" "nargile" "nargileh" "Narghile" "hubbly bubbly"

Then just do Newly Listed..
Daily.
For. The. Rest. Of. your. Life..

O_O

nah, but try searching for other things.

Cool stuff comes up
Like

Mughals

Happy hunting

theres always mugals on ebay haha, i typically do a search for hookah and limit it to used and not specified, i really dont have the patience to wade through all the crap listed as new. too much chinese garbage and herbal tobacco.

mughal is a style of indian tombak pipe, like the ones with brass bases, wood/wood accented stems, and brass tombak bowls with little windcover caps. theyre cute, but i dont care for them really, theres lots of pictures of them in the antique hookah thread, tend to have this sort of form factor

really intended for tombac/jurak more than modern moassels

That looks like the one I just canceled a purchase on. It was okay looking but I was confused with the set up and the seller seemed sketchy when describing it so I said I might as well stick with what I know. It was definitely vintage though. That's the only part I'm sad about is that now I have to find something else vintage.

i mean, how are you defining vintage? i feel like youre using it as a term for "made of brass". mughal style hookahs are still in production. you could smoke modern stuff in them and use modern bowls, i just wouldnt use the bowl they come with. im just not big on the style. like i said, you just need to watch out on ebay and be cautious, it helps to know your stuff. also when you have enough posts you can check what people are selling around here.

A lot of these style hookahs on E-Bay are for decorative purposes only meaning the wooden Down stem is not fitted or supplied with the hookah.

That's a good idea. I'm about to look now!
I actually was looking on Etsy for awhile and found a couple of antique items. None I really wanted to buy though.
