I have a review up here on my youtube channel. Love the godfather bowl!

Smokes all brands great and it works amazing with the lotus. I was kind of surprised at the lower price point too, I'll definitely pick up a third

I'd go for the Crown. Everything Santino makes is first rate, his stuff looks better and he's an active supporter of HP.

Yeah, I own both, really like my crown 4.0 and the crown tips are amazing! I'm just more comfortable with tangiers using the godfather bowl but you won't go wrong either way

I'd rather go with the trusted and proven Crown bowls, but I'm still intrigued by this bowl. It looks neat and it looks a lot smaller than what they claim it does. Not sure I'd ever buy one, but I certainly wouldn't be opposed to trying one.

Extremely thick, you can drop it, hit it, it's really solid

crown bowls that fit the lotus are now readily available.

i would also rather support Santino and his glass skills.

...unless this "godfather" ends up being a 100x better than the micro phunnel.... But the glass phunnels still fall short when compared to a clay phunnel.

I definitely support santino, I own a lot of his products, bowls, tips, ect.

Having said that, the godfather bowl in my opinion is a different beast, it feels more sturdy and thicker than crown bowls, it heats tangiers perfect, its a quality product.

Again, I'd say buy both!

if by "readily available" you mean sell out within 30 mins of restock and take weeks to restock again, yes. but santinos products are awesome. if it smokes well, use it i suppose.

I've always loved crown products but I feel light Pyrex might be a more suitable material. I think the godfather will be going on my Father's Day wish list.

I was under the impression that the crown was not Pyrex, I own a few crown bowls and a cheap Pyrex vortex and the vortex seems to smoke a little better I was just assuming that crown was not Pyrex and that was the reason for the difference in smoke quality?

A: It is commonly referred to as pyrex, although that is a misnomer. We use Schott German Borosilicate tubing, second to none in terms of the quality of the glass.
Pyrex is a trade name for borosilicate. Crown products would never be able to handle the heat/quenching/impact if they werent borosilicate. A difference you notice in the vortex might be from the vortex being easier to pack, though i couldnt tell you for sure.

damn i got fancy with this post. EDIT: nvm ,my hyperlink didnt work

Actually Pyrex is made from soda lime.... Both soda lime and borosilicate are great with heat and cold, and are very durable... Having said that, I pretty much exclusively use my micro funnel(ever since my CCv2 got shattered) and until he comes out with a cloud bowl that holds 5-10g of shisha, I'll prolly never get a cloud... Every brand I smoke, I get 3 rounds of coals easy from 8-10g of tobacco with great flavor and clouds. Can't justify spending that much for the lotus and a compatible bowl when I'll be using twice as much tobacco for the same session...

Tangiers Small is a great starting bowl for tangiers. It's not that hard to
get heat management down, and you're not wasting too much shisha.

Were both right, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyrex pyrex was originally borosilicate, but is currently being made from soda-lime because of lower cost/higher mechanical strength. But still, the point is that pyrex is a trade name i suppose.

I have both the Tangiers small, and a number of Crown bowls (CCV4, Jewel, Cloud). They all work great. The Tang Small and Cloud work great with the Lotus as well. My Jewel is about 8-10g bowl, the CCV4 is 15-18g, the Cloud is 12-15g, the Tang small is also about 12-15g. I dont tend to go for larger bowls -- session lasts TOO long.

Stick with the Crown bowls. They are proven and made in the US by Santino himself. Great customer service and great product overall.
