Any ideas on how to counteract the smell of coco coals when you light them on the stove?

Leave the room!

How about turning on the exhaust fan? I mean I never realized any smell coming from my coco Naras when I used to light them on the stove.

Truer words never spoken, hahaha.
But you can try to open up some windows, or maybe turn on a fan or two like Evilcon suggested. Just get some air moving in the kitchen, create a draft. Or... leave the room... haha. |

Open all your windows and use a fan to blow the odor to or near the windows. There really is no way that you can beat the odor besides being in a big, well ventilated area.

Tried the exhaust fan. Still the smell continues. lol. Its not a huge deal, i mean it goes away right after they're about half way lit just wondering if someone else had ever successfully avoided it. I've had several different boxes of coco nara's and had them on different stoves but it still makes the same smell

Are you using a coil burner to light or a glass top? Ive noticed that my glass top makes a much stronger smell than my coil burner did for some reason...

I've always used a single coil burner. No need to screw up my stove's glass top!

I hear that! Im only using it until my coil burner gets in. I had to order one though. I visited/called about 10 stores in my area, and no one had a portable coil burner....

I had the same problem here. I think most stores in college towns don't stock coil burners since they aren't allowed in the dorms (at least at my school). I picked one up on Amazon and couldn't be happier!

Vent above your stove or open a window and have a fan point at the window.

I open my windows, set the coil burner next to there, turn on the vent above my stove, and light some candles. Gets the mood set, too.

Eat bean burrito prior to lighting and hot fries. As you are lighting coals, rip some gnarly farts!
