there is no way that that bowl needs more than 2 coals and a wind-cover

how long are you leaving the bowl to warm up after adding the coals?

your goal is to heat the bowl up and not to nuke the poor tobacco

With the 2 coals and the windcover I let it sit for 4 to 6 minutes before to start to draw .. but whé I start to draw, even after 10 minutes, the smoke isn’t dense..

Youre a bit underpacked there brother. Loosely pack the tobacco so its above the rim, then press it to just below the rim and as my esteemed colleague has pointed out, two coals and a windcover ought to get it done.

Hole pattern doesnt matter in the least. You just need enough for sufficeint air flow. I like to punch 4 rings of concentric circles ( including a hole over bowls bung hole ),Only because it pleases my sense of aesthetics.

Move those coals closer to the rim of the bowl. Place them as you did for three minutes, then rotate them to opposite sides for 3 more minutes. Take your windcover off at this point. Put it back on when your smoke seems to “ thin”. ( and your tobacco is going to blacken as it bakes. )

this.

coals on the lip of the bowl, heat the bowl to bake the tobacco.

YES it’s still under packed because I didn’t want the foil to touch the tobacco..

And I don’t want for the coals to fall if I put them on the very edge of the bowl

If you pack your bowl as we’ve suggested (repeatedly), you’ll be fine. As for the coals, if you place them in the center of the bowl as youve done, you’ll continue to have difficulties.

Its just advice. Take what you want and leave the rest behind, but dont ask the same questions and expect different answers because you dont like the ones youve been given.
