Depends on what bowl you're using really.

I usually use 3 CH Nats on my Small Phunnel bowl in a triangle pattern.

Light them on a coil burner stove, you can get one at walgreens for $10 if your stove at home is gas.

Let them ash over completely, then smoke!

After 20-ish minutes, take them off, ash them, flip them over, and smoke til they're gone!

Nats still give off fumes. Prolly not as bad but there is an odor that gets released.

gas stove FTW ...... put them where they directly touch the flame, leave them for a few minutes ..... then flip on the other side and light the other side .... then put them in ur coal tray/carrier and using a magazine or some hard paper as a fan, give them some vigorous airing to get hotter and red all around .....

Might be tricky though to balance them on the edge of the flame on a gas stove .... especially if they r bulk nats.

torch doesn't sound like a good idea to me .

The only torch that I would recommend is the huge one that looks like a power drill. The huge one that comes with a sharp tip accessory, not sure what it's for though.

Looks like you are getting lemon wood coals...which are big time over priced... but anyway.

you can light lemon wood on a electic coil... or you can light them on an open flame... the open flame is def easier for lemon wood...

take 2-4 pieces and place on the metal thing where u normally set a pan when u cook. turn the flame on and flip once... when the are bright red u know they are done... o and turn on a exaust fan because the still have fumes...

next time u order get some CH nats, exoticas, or nat fingers.... all of which we can provide links for.

btw jayrunner89 made a review on lemon wood charcoal... look it up!

Yuck lemonwood are not my favorite at all. Orangewood are far cheaper and far better.

The coals you ordered arent shit, but they will be tons of different sizes making it hard to get heat management down without trial and error, plus you have to break them into smaller pieces all the time. The nice thing about a finger coal is they are all the same shape so you just cut them into what you want. Its a lot less work. As far as lighting just set them on the stove for about 10 min. and they will get red then you use them. You will enjoy your shisha very much.

i wish i had a gas stove for cooking reasons, but my electric coil top works just fine. You put the coals on, 4 minutes later you flip them for 1 min and they are ready to be placed.

This is using CH nats.

Then you just let the bowl warm up before you inhale.
